Get Ready for Cyclone Season: Community Clean-Up Dates Announced!

The Coomalie Community Government Council is holding its annual Pre-Cyclone Clean-Up for residential properties in Batchelor and Adelaide River. This is your chance to clear out unwanted items before the wet season begins.

Batchelor Collection:

Place items out: Saturday 17 & Sunday 18 October 2026

Collection runs: Monday 19 to Thursday 22 October 2026

Adelaide River Collection:

Place items out: Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 October 2026

Collection runs: Monday 26 to Thursday 29 October 2026

What can be collected?

White goods, household items, and furniture.

What will NOT be collected?

Green waste and prohibited items (as listed on the Council’s website).

Please ensure items are only placed out on the allocated weekends, as Council will only conduct one pass per street. This service is for township residential properties only; commercial operators are excluded.

2026 Dog Registrations Due

The 2026-27 Dog Registrations are now due for the period 1st September 2026 - 31 August 2027. For this financial year Council are offering a 50% discount* for desexed dogs upon presentation of the desexing certificate. As usual, a 50% discount* can also apply for concession card holders, this must also be presented at time of payment. * Note only 1 discount can be applied per animal You can pay your registration in person, over the phone or from Council's website here ! When making payment via the website please quote the 'Animal No' from your notice as the reference.
