Facility Closures over the Christmas Period

Detailed below are the closure dates and times for Council's facilities over the Christmas - New Year period.

Council Offices - Updated

Council Offices will remain closed until Monday 12th January 2026 at 8am.

Batchelor Pool

Will be closed Thursday 25th December 2025, re-opening Friday 26th December 2025 for the lap swimming session. Please see regular opening times here.

Batchelor Postal Agency

Will be closed Thursday 25th December 2025 and re-opening Monday 29th December 2025.

It will also be closed Thursday 1st January 2026 and re-opening Friday 2nd January 2026.

Community Libraries

Batchelor Community Library will be closed from Sunday 14th December 2025 in line with Batchelor Institute closing from midday on Friday 19th December.

Adelaide River Library will be closed for a maintenance period from Monday 22nd December 2025 and re-opening from Monday 5th January 2026. Please see the regular opening times for our Community Libraries here.

Waste Facilities

Council's Waste Facilities will be closed on Thursday 25th December 2025. Please see the regular opening times for our Community Libraries here.

2026 Dog Registrations Due

August 18, 2026

The 2026-27 Dog Registrations are now due for the period 1st September 2026 - 31 August 2027. For this financial year Council are offering a 50% discount* for desexed dogs upon presentation of the desexing certificate. As usual, a 50% discount* can also apply for concession card holders, this must also be presented at time of payment. * Note only 1 discount can be applied per animal You can pay your registration in person, over the phone or from Council's website here ! When making payment via the website please quote the 'Animal No' from your notice as the reference.
