Additional Barramundi Released at Lake Rum Jungle

NT Fisheries this week released 25 larger barramundi and 80 fingerlings into Lake Rum Jungle on Monday 19th June 2023. This is in addition to the 300 fingerlings released during June 2022 at the Lake.

The 25 larger fish are all approx. 50cm long and are all tagged with a green tag. Should you catch one, please call the number on the tag and quote the reference number to receive a lure set for your efforts. The 80 fingerlings that were released are all 10cms in length.

Fisheries are more than happy with the condition and health of the lake and are looking to make further fish release in coming years!

Students from Batchelor Area School were in attendance as part of their school curriculum to observe and detail the release program.

2026 Dog Registrations Due

The 2026-27 Dog Registrations are now due for the period 1st September 2026 - 31 August 2027. For this financial year Council are offering a 50% discount* for desexed dogs upon presentation of the desexing certificate. As usual, a 50% discount* can also apply for concession card holders, this must also be presented at time of payment. * Note only 1 discount can be applied per animal You can pay your registration in person, over the phone or from Council's website here !
