Manager Works and Services

Full Time, Level 9 – Level 11 (Local Government Industry Award 2020)

Salary Range $69,774 - $94,601

(Salary based on qualifications, skills and experience)

(+ on call allowance and superannuation)


Reporting to the CEO, the Manager Works and Services is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the Works and Services Department.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to; Supervising the Regulatory & Works Supervisor and Outdoor Workforce Team members, planning, management and maintenance of all facilities, infrastructure and assets, management of Council’s fleet, plant and equipment and assist with the response/recovery in accordance with Council Policy for Emergency Preparedness and Response, being available for on-call callouts. The position also manages Contractors and the Waste Management Strategy, administers the implementation of Council By-Laws.


The applicant requires well-developed written and verbal communication skills to prepare accurate documentation and reports, participate in preparation of annual and quarterly reports, annual plans, budgets projects and documents as required by the Chief Executive Officer.


The applicant also must be able to make sound judgements and have decision making and problem-solving skills and sound knowledge in WHS/OHS compliance.


Relevant qualifications, management & civil works experience, Local Government and Coomalie region knowledge would be beneficial.

Current NT Drivers Licence


Compliance with CHO Direction (52 & 60) 2022 is essential.
